Every week we go to the wood carving special interest group meeting at the Northeastern Woodworkers Association shop. We trade ideas and do wood carving projects. This week I have been carving a turtle pattern that another member carved. I really like the pattern and had to give it a try. The wood appears to be African Mahogany, I am not 100% sure since it was a cutoff that was given to me. So we have "another piece saved from the wood stove".
I used the Shopbot cnc router to rough out the pattern and am hand carving the details.
